Brighton Sundae w/ WheelUP

Brighton Sundae is back at Patterns on Sunday 4 October, with WheelUP taking the main slot. It's a daytime affair that runs from early afternoon through to the evening, and it's billed as 'Brighton's friendliest dancefloor'.

The day starts with a 'Sundae Sermon' at 1:30pm—a Q&A with WheelUP himself—before the dancing takes over and carries on until 8pm. You're welcome to bring your own food, and pizza is sold later in the day, so you can settle in for the long haul. Re-entry is possible, too, if you need to step out and come back.

WheelUP is the moniker of West London producer and DJ Danny Wheeler, a torchbearer of the 'bruk renaissance' with dual Zimbabwean and British heritage. He's known for his resurgent broken beat sound, and his discography has grown steadily over the last few years: the debut album Good Love in 2021, We Are The Magic in 2023, and Inner Light in 2025, all released via Tru Thoughts. He's picked up support from Gilles Peterson, Jamz Supernova, and Benji B, and has played major festivals like Glastonbury, Shambala, and We Out Here.

Joining him on the bill are D-Novo and Mr Dan, so it's a full afternoon of DJs rather than just one set. Tickets run from £1.50 to £8.00, and the dancing goes until 8pm.
