Final Brighton Sundae date of 2026 with DJ Marcia Carr, blending deep house, Afro, jazz dance and more, hosted by resident DJs D-Novo and Mr Dan.
Marcia Carr takes over Patterns on Sunday 1 November for the final Brighton Sundae of 2026. It's the last one of the year, and it's coming after a summer break, so it's the one that closes out the series for the venue.
Brighton Sundae is Patterns' house party series, and the afternoon is hosted by resident DJs D-Novo and Mr Dan. It kicks off with 'The Sundae Sermon', a Q&A with the guest DJ before the dancefloor takes over, so you'll get a chance to hear Carr talk through her approach before she actually steps behind the decks. D-Novo and Mr Dan will be there throughout, keeping the room moving around her.
Carr arrives with a reputation as a 'DJ's DJ', and the sound she plays is a wide-ranging, feel-good mix. It stretches from deep house, Afro, jazz dance, broken beat, Motown and boogie through to D&B and Detroit Techno, so the afternoon will pull from a few different eras and styles rather than sticking to one. She's a regular in her hometown of London, playing venues like The Jazz Café, Soho House and Oslo, and has appeared on BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music. Her residencies have run across Rinse FM, Mi-Soul and The Boat Pod, and this is her bringing that same broad-brush selection to Brighton.
