A three-day festival celebrating UK beachside sauna culture with wood-fired saunas, guided rituals, and holistic experiences on the beach.
Brighton is getting a new event on the calendar this year: the inaugural Brighton Sauna Festival. Organised by the British Sauna Society, it is taking place from 29 to 31 May 2026. The festival is set up at the Beach Box Spa, located at Banjo Groyne, 285 Madeira Drive. It is essentially a three-day celebration of UK beachside sauna culture, bringing together a variety of setups right on the seafront. If you have spent any time at the beach in Brighton, you will know the area has a long-standing connection to coastal wellness, and this event is leaning into that tradition by utilising the existing beach infrastructure.

The setup includes over 20 mobile saunas, ranging from converted horseboxes and trucks to various tent structures, all positioned along the beach. The programme is structured around specific themes throughout the day—RISE, FLOW, DRIFT, TIDE, GLOW, and SUNSET—which might help in choosing when to book. They are offering guided rituals, including traditional practices like Aufguss and 'whisking', alongside other contemporary experiences. For those interested in the atmosphere, Rob da Bank has curated the music, with DJ sessions starting at 18:00 each evening. It is designed to be an inclusive space, so whether you are a regular sauna user or just curious about trying it out for the first time, the environment is intended to accommodate both.
If you are planning to go, sessions are priced at £37.50 for a two-hour slot. It is worth noting that all bookings are handled exclusively through the LOWLU app, so you will need to have that ready if you decide to secure a spot. The festival runs across the full three days, giving a bit of flexibility if you are trying to fit it into a busy weekend. It is a straightforward concept: a mix of heat, sea air, and community-focused wellness, all happening right on the pebbles. The focus remains on the social aspect of the experience, providing a space for people to gather and engage with the sauna culture that has been growing in popularity along the coast.
