The event is structured around four distinct theatres, each focusing on different aspects of the industry. If you are interested in the human side of the business, Theatre 1, located at The Tempest, is dedicated to wellbeing. The sessions there cover topics like imposter syndrome, mental health, neurodiversity, and sobriety. For those more focused on the technical side, Theatre 2 at Players is running workshops in collaboration with the pointblank music school, covering production techniques, DJ skills, and immersive audio. Meanwhile, Theatre 3 at Horizon is the place for artist development, A&R discussions, and industry interviews, while Theatre 4 at Carousels, in partnership with Skiddle, handles the business side of things, including contracts, copyright, and the role of AI in music.
For those planning to attend, it is worth noting that this is a ticketed event. Professional passes are priced at £175, plus booking fees. The conference is primarily aimed at industry professionals, including artists, promoters, agents, managers, and emerging producers. It is a practical space for networking and learning rather than a festival in the traditional sense, though it does coincide with other cultural activities in the city. For instance, if you are walking near the Brighton station, you might notice the 'We Are Warriors' light and sound installation in the Cab Road tunnel, which is part of the Brighton Festival running concurrently until May 24th.
