The 21st anniversary of the iconic Mod Weekender organised by The New Untouchables, featuring music, fashion, and the famous scooter run across Brighton.
We’re still in the depths of winter, but it’s definitely time to start looking ahead to the August Bank Holiday weekend, because that’s when the city gets taken over by the annual Brighton Mod Weekender. Brighton has long been considered the spiritual home for Mods, and this year, the event is celebrating a significant milestone. The Weekender runs from Thursday, August 27th, through Sunday, August 30th, 2026, marking the 21st anniversary of the event being organized by The New Untouchables.

If you’ve been in the city during this weekend before, you know the atmosphere is unique. The whole town comes alive with the classic Mod aesthetic: sharp suits, great music, and, of course, the iconic scooter run. The New Untouchables typically structure the weekend with plenty of activities going on both day and night. The event is primarily aimed at enthusiasts of the culture—those who appreciate the music, the fashion, and the scooters—but it’s a spectacle for anyone in the area.
Based on previous years, we can expect the daytime action to center around venues like Volks, which usually hosts music, record markets, and stalls selling vintage clothing and memorabilia. Once the sun goes down, the focus shifts to places like Komedia for the nightly concerts and DJ sets. These venues provide the backdrop for the music that defines the scene.
Perhaps the most visible part of the weekend is the scooter procession. This usually takes place on Sunday afternoon, when hundreds of Vespas and Lambrettas make their way down to Madeira Drive for the ride and competition. It’s a fantastic sight, even if you aren't deep into the Mod scene yourself. It’s one of those weekends that defines Brighton’s cultural calendar, offering a chance to see the city embrace its history and heritage in a very stylish way.
