The main 26.2-mile race of the Brighton Marathon Weekend 2026, starting at Preston Park. General entry is sold out, but charity places are still available.
We’re looking ahead to April 2026, specifically the weekend of the 11th and 12th, when the city hosts the annual Brighton Marathon Weekend. The main event, the 26.2-mile marathon, takes place on Sunday, April 12th, 2026, starting from Preston Park. If you were planning to run, general entries for the marathon are already sold out. However, if you still want to participate, there are still places available through various charity organizations. This event, operated by London Marathon Events, is a major fixture, and for those curious about the cost, the 2024 prices were around £59.99 to £69.99 for the full distance.

Beyond the main race, the weekend also includes The Brighton Trail Marathon, the 10K, and The Brighton Miles. For those running the marathon itself, it’s a road race with a 477-foot elevation gain. The entry fee covers quite a bit: timed results, event photography, a finisher's medal and T-shirt (optional), and even the option to plant a tree via Trees Not Tees. Logistically, they seem well-prepared, offering free bag drop, pacers running times between 3:00 and 7:00 hours, and aid stations stocked with water, gels, and Zero HIGH5. They also make an effort to be inclusive, providing sensory calm spaces and multi-faith prayer areas. It’s worth remembering the history of the event, like the time back in April 2017 when a runner dressed as a Wookie participated to raise money for Cancer Research.
Shifting gears completely from endurance running to music, there's a concert coming up much sooner in the year. On Sunday, February 15th, 2026, the LA trio Faetooth will be playing at Patterns (10 Marine Parade). This is a 14+ event, presented by The Beauty Witch, and tickets are priced at £16.50. Faetooth describes their sound as 'fairy doom,' which is a distinctive blend of doom metal, black metal, shoegaze, and sludge. Their music explores themes of personal vulnerability, the natural world, and captivating mysteries. If you're looking for something heavy and atmospheric early next year, this might be one to check out.
