Brighton Gay Men's Chorus Presents A Merry Murder Mystery

Brighton Gay Men's Chorus are back at the Brighton Dome on Saturday 12 December with A Merry Murder Mystery, their annual Christmas extravaganza. It takes over from last year's sell-out, Beauty and the Bear, and follows a similar festive format: a big choral show with a strong theatrical thread running through it.

The plot is a classic setup. Six eccentric strangers each get an invitation to a Christmas dinner party, but once they're all there, it turns out murder is on the menu and nobody has a clue who did it. The audience is brought in to help figure out whodunnit, and the whole thing is built around laughter, festivity and camp Christmas classics. It's a musical murder mystery, so the singing is as much a part of the evening as the mystery itself.

The chorus is led by Artistic Director Joe Paxton and Music Director Tim Nail. Beyond the stage, they're a registered charity (No. 1171020) built on three guiding principles they call the 'Three S's': Singing, Socialising and Support. They rehearse every Tuesday evening in central Brighton and are open to anyone who self-identifies as male and is LGBTQ-friendly, staging three shows of their own each year.

It's on Saturday 12 December in The Concert Hall at the Brighton Dome on Church Street, BN1 1UE. Doors open at 18:45 and the show starts at 19:30. Tickets are £35, £25, £18 and £10, with Brighton Dome and Brighton Festival members saving £2 on full-price tickets.
