A showcase of the best new comedians performing at the Brighton Fringe, featuring bursary winners and fantastic acts, curated by Luke Rollason.
If you are looking to get a sense of what is bubbling up in the comedy scene during this year's Brighton Fringe, the Brighton Fringe Comedy Showcase at Komedia is one of the more direct ways to see a cross-section of new talent. Scheduled for Saturday, 30 May 2026, the event is curated and hosted by Luke Rollason, who you might recognise from the Disney+ sitcom Extraordinary. The showcase is designed to highlight emerging voices, including recipients of the Luke Rollason Memorial Bursary, and offers a mix of stand-up, character comedy, double acts, and musical performances.

The lineup for this edition features a wide variety of approaches to comedy. You can expect to see Aruhan Galieva, who blends eco-activism with songs about bats, and Freddie Hayes, who performs absurd comedy as a potato. The programme also includes Christian Brighty with his Mr. Darcy-style character work, Ted Hill’s set on American presidents and drugs, and Sami Abu Wardeh’s routines regarding his experience as a Palestinian in the UK. Other performers include Sara Segovia, who incorporates risk-based performance as an alien, Lachlan Werner with his ventriloquism and puppets, Sue the Cleaner, Rachel Baker, Rebecca Harrison, and Alex Franklin.
The event takes place in the Komedia Studio at 44-47 Gardner Street, right in the middle of the North Laine area. It is an unreserved seating setup, so it is worth keeping that in mind if you are planning to go with a group. Doors open at 19:40, and the show itself starts at 20:10. The age restriction for the venue is 16+. Regarding the cost, tickets are currently listed at £10.00 for concessions and £12.00 for standard entry, though it is worth noting that these prices can fluctuate daily depending on the box office updates. It is a straightforward format that focuses on giving stage time to alternative and emerging acts, making it a practical option if you want to catch several different styles of performance in a single evening.
