A tribute to the music of the Beatles and the Beach Boys performed in the psychedelic surroundings of the Meeting House at the University of Sussex.
Brighton Beach Boys bring their 1966 Show to The Meeting House at the University of Sussex on Friday 30 October. It's a double-bill of a night, with the set pulling from the music of both the Beatles and the Beach Boys, and the venue itself plays a part: the Meeting House is known for its psychedelic surroundings, which lean into the mid-sixties era the show covers. The performance is also part of the celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of the Meeting House, so it's a bit more than just a one-off gig.
On stage are Glen Richardson, Stephen Wrigley, Adrian Marshall and Charlotte Glasson. They'll be working through the songs of two of the biggest bands of the sixties, the Beatles and the Beach Boys, side by side. The 1966 date in the title points to a specific moment in the music of that decade, and the psychedelic decor of the room fits the mood.
