Brighton Backgammon - Beginners Night

Brighton Backgammon is holding its Beginners Night at The Fitz Regent on Tuesday 8 September, from 18:00 to 23:00. It's one of two dates listed for the autumn, with another session following on Tuesday 13 October, also from 18:00 to 23:00.

The night is aimed at existing members and anyone in the community who fancies playing, whatever their level of experience. That includes people who have never heard of backgammon before, which the organisers describe as the world's oldest known board game still being played. If you've never played, it's a good place to start; if you already know the ropes, it's a chance to get a few games in with other players.

Brighton Backgammon runs what it calls one of the most successful backgammon communities in the UK, with club nights held every month on the second Tuesday evening. The Beginners Night sits within that regular cycle, and the club is always looking for new members to join in. The Fitz Regent is at 7-8 Castle Square, BN1 1FX, right in the centre of town, so it's an easy one to get to on a Tuesday night. Standard tickets are free, and the session runs for five hours, so there's plenty of time to play as many games as you like.
