BREAM. (with The Attic and The Willis Ordeal)

BREAM. headline The Hope & Ruin on Thursday 13 August, with The Attic and The Willis Ordeal supporting. It's a Brighton bill through and through, and the night is built around sing-along tunes and guitar solos.

BREAM. is the continuation of GROG MACHINE, the funk fusion band that built a following here. They're five friends whose sole vision is to unite people and make them smile, and that same spirit carries over into this new chapter. The Attic are fellow Brightoners powered by good times, catchy hooks and a carefree spirit. The Willis Ordeal is singer-songwriter Matt Willis's project, blending folk lyricism and jazz harmony with soul and groove.

The venue is The Hope & Ruin, a 150-capacity room above a busy pub on Queens Road, built from reclaimed and found objects, with the original tin bar and woodwork left to show its age. It's hosted acts like The Strokes, Adele and Bonnie Prince Billy, and has featured emerging talent including George Ezra and James Bay, who won a BRIT Award Critics' Choice in 2015.

Downstairs, the pub serves food from midday until late, Sunday roasts included, and pours a continental-style tank lager directly from the tank. The music starts at 8:00 pm.
