Concert by the acclaimed indie-pop and rock quartet Borderline from Auckland, New Zealand.
Borderline play The Green Door Store on Wednesday 19 August, their first Brighton show since they played The Great Escape back in 2025. They're an indie-pop and rock quartet from Auckland, New Zealand, and the four of them — Ben Glanfield on guitar, vocals and keys, Jackson Boswell on drums and vocals, Matthew McFadden on lead guitar and Max Harries on bass — have been playing together since they were children.
They started getting noticed with their 2023 debut single 'Spinning' and the Perfect Movie Scene EP, and signed to EMPIRE in 2024. 2025 was the year things really took off: they made their US debut at SXSW, headlined in New York and Los Angeles, and played The Great Escape here in the UK. They also appeared in Rolling Stone Australia's Local Legends live series and released the Chrysalis EP. 'New Romance' became their first number one on the New Zealand Hot 20 and earned BBC Introducing Track of the Week. Later that year, they returned to Australia for BIGSOUND 2025 and opened for Teddy Swims on his New Zealand arena tour.
They've entered 2026 with two new singles, 'Tainted' and 'Watching It Burn', and an extensive North American tour, so this is one of their first dates on this side of the Atlantic since that run. They're managed by August Avenue and signed to EMPIRE and CONCORD.
