Philadelphia-based shoegaze and computer pop band Bleary Eyed perform live at DUST with support from Sunnbrella.
On Friday, 27th February, Bleary Eyed will be performing in Brighton, bringing their specific blend of shoegaze and 'computer pop' to the coast. The band has been around since 2015, founded by Nathaniel Salfi and drawing from the musical landscapes of Philadelphia and Washington DC. Their music tends to lean heavily into atmospheres built from samples and plenty of fuzz, creating a sound that feels both digital and organic. Joining them for the evening is Sunnbrella, the solo project of London-based musician David Zbirka. Having both acts on the same lineup provides a good look at how the shoegaze genre is being interpreted by artists currently working between the UK and the US.

The venue for the night is DUST, located at 77 East Street (BN1 1NF), a space that many locals also recognise as Zahara. It’s a central spot, making it easy to get to for a Friday night out. Doors are scheduled to open at 19:00, which gives you enough time to get settled before the music starts. It is worth noting that this is an 18+ event, so you'll need to have ID handy. The show is being presented by the DUST team, who have been quite active in bringing these types of niche, genre-blending acts to this part of Brighton.
In terms of getting entry, tickets are being sold for a standard price of £13.50. Depending on which booking site you prefer, you might find the total cost fluctuates slightly between £12.00 and £14.53 once various platform fees are included. You can find them listed on See Tickets, DICE, and Gigantic, so there are plenty of options for booking in advance. It’s a straightforward setup for a mid-winter gig, offering a chance to see how Bleary Eyed’s studio-heavy sound translates to a live environment alongside Sunnbrella’s London-influenced contributions.
