A city-wide culinary trail featuring oyster dishes, themed dinners, and special events across various Brighton venues.
Brighton is getting a new culinary addition this month with the inaugural BITE Brighton Oyster Festival, running from 19 to 28 June 2026. Rather than being confined to a single location, the festival is set up as a city-wide trail, encouraging people to visit various restaurants and bars across Brighton & Hove to sample their oyster offerings. The format is straightforward: for £15, you can get a plate of oysters—whether you prefer them fresh, Rockefeller, or in tempura—paired with a drink, which could be a sparkling wine, a cocktail, or a Fever-Tree mocktail. You don't need to book tickets for the trail itself, though it is worth keeping in mind that if you are planning to go on a weekend evening or are heading out with a larger group, booking a table at the participating venues is a good idea.

Beyond the general trail, there are three specific events scheduled that support local charities. On 25 June, the SEA LIFE Brighton aquarium is hosting 'Cocktails and Canapés Under the Sea', which brings together local mixologists, chefs, and distilleries to raise funds for the SEA LIFE Trust. A few days later, on 27 June, the Brighton Toy & Model Museum will be the venue for the 'Sparkling Sussex Soirée', an evening dedicated to supporting the Trafalgar Street regeneration project. The festival then wraps up on 28 June at English's of Brighton with an Oyster Shucking Competition, which also contributes to the Martlets hospice. It is a fairly focused programme, giving those interested in the local food scene a chance to engage with these venues while supporting specific community projects.
