A dance performance by Three Score Dance Company exploring the vivid terrain of being in-between, revealing tension, humour, and joy in uncertainty.
If you are looking for something a bit different to do in Brighton this May, the Three Score Dance Company is bringing their latest production, Betwixt, to The Dance Space. It is happening on 15 May 2026, and it explores the idea of being in-betweenâthat strange, vivid terrain where the usual distractions fade away and we find ourselves neither here nor there. The piece looks at how we might encounter the unknown as a space full of possibilities, with the dancers moving between quiet suspension and restless energy. It aims to highlight the tension, humour, and unexpected joy that can exist when we are in those uncertain moments.

Three Score Dance Company has been around since 2011, working under the artistic direction of Jason Keenan-Smith. They are based here in Brighton & Hove and focus on bringing movement to older adults through classes, outreach programmes, and their own performance company. They have a history of commissioning new work from well-known choreographers like Lea Anderson, Ben Duke, Rhiannon Faith, and the Russell Maliphant Dance Company. Their performances generally focus on the expression and artistry that their dancers bring to the stage, and this specific production is being presented in association with South East Dance.
The performance will take place at The Dance Space, which is located at 2 Market Square, Circus Street, Brighton, BN2 9AS. If you are planning to go, tickets are available with a standard price of ÂŁ15.00, and there is a concession rate of ÂŁ12.00. While the company is known for its work with older adults, the themes of this pieceâexploring uncertainty and the feeling of being in-betweenâare quite universal, so it should be an interesting watch regardless of your background.
