A high-energy musical bingo experience where participants mark off songs on a card, featuring a quick-fire DJ, surprise dance-offs and a showdown between classic and musical bingo.
Battle Of The Bingo comes to Komedia in North Laine on Thursday 17 September, bringing together some of the UK's top bingo hosts for a night that swaps the quiet of a community centre for a proper party. It's an over-18s event, so it's one for the later crowd rather than the family afternoon.
If you've never come across musical bingo, it's a simple twist on the original: instead of numbers, you're listening for songs. A DJ runs the rounds, and you mark off the tunes on your card as they play. Each round has its own musical theme, so you'll be switching gears as the night goes on. It's fast-paced, and the hosts are known for their chaotic energy, so it's more of a live show than a game of chance.
Between the rounds, there's plenty to keep it from being just sitting and listening. They throw in surprise dance-offs, stage challenges, mystery prizes, and confetti, and the whole thing is designed to be interactive. The 'Battle' part of the name comes from the setup: the night is framed as a showdown between classic dabbers bingo and musical bingo, with the audience voting for the winner in the final round.
