Cancer Bats alter ego band Bat Sabbath performs a tribute to Black Sabbath at Concorde 2 in Brighton.
On Tuesday, 21 July 2026, the Concorde 2 will be hosting a show that’s a bit of a departure from the usual touring circuit. Bat Sabbath is coming to Brighton, and for those who aren't familiar with the name, it’s the alter ego of the Canadian hardcore punk band Cancer Bats. Rather than playing their own tracks, the band uses this project to pay tribute to Black Sabbath. This isn't a new whim for them either; they’ve been developing this side project for over a decade, having released the EP Bastards of Reality in 2013 and more recently Masters of Duality in 2023. This upcoming date is part of their Bat Sabbath - Across the United Kingdom tour, bringing their specific take on heavy metal history to the seafront.

The night is scheduled to begin with doors at 19:30, and the lineup is rounded out by the support band Froglord. The main set is dedicated entirely to Black Sabbath’s discography, so the evening will be filled with familiar riffs from tracks like Iron Man and War Pigs. Because the members of Bat Sabbath come from a punk and hardcore background, the delivery of these classics tends to have a different energy than a standard tribute act. It’s a show that generally draws a mix of long-time metal fans and those who follow the Cancer Bats' regular work, making for a specific atmosphere within the 600-capacity venue.
If you’re looking at the practical side of things, the Concorde 2 is situated at 286A Madeira Drive, BN2 1EN. Tickets are currently available with prices starting at a base of £21.50, though once you factor in various booking fees, the total usually lands between £24.65 and £25.39. It’s worth noting the entry requirements for the night: the event is open to those aged 14 and over, but anyone under 16 needs to be with an adult. It’s a straightforward mid-week gig for the Brighton scene, offering a chance to hear these classic songs in a live setting without the scale of a stadium tour.
