Ashley Singh plays The Hope & Ruin on Tuesday 17 November, with the set starting at 7:30pm. It's a headline show presented by As Is When Presents, and it's for over-18s.

Singh is an East London singer-songwriter, vocalist, pianist and guitarist who developed his talents at East London Arts & Music. He first came to attention with Keep Me, a song that looks at the sadness and melancholy of a faltering romance; it saw his TikTok following jump from 100 to 28,000 in a single week and has since racked up millions of streams. Since then, he's built a reputation for quietly compelling songwriting that deals in love, heartbreak and emotional vulnerability, and 10 Summers sits right alongside it in that vein.

He names Coldplay, Julia Michaels, FINNEAS, Max Martin and JP Saxe as inspirations, and has worked with Danny Connors, who co-wrote 10 Summers, as well as Anders Höjer, Mike Kintish and Eddie Serafica. That mix of pop sensibilities and more intimate, songwriter-led territory is a good way to get a feel for where his music sits.
