Concert by the irreverent American folk punk band Andrew Jackson Jihad at the Patterns venue, part of their 'DIRTY OLD POWER TOUR WITH GOOD LUCK'.
AJJ (formerly Andrew Jackson Jihad) play Patterns on Friday 19 March, with Ducking Punches on support. It's part of their Dirty Old Power Tour With Good Luck, and it's their first Brighton date since 2010.
If you're not familiar, AJJ are an irreverent American folk punk band from Phoenix, Arizona, who formed back in 2004. They started as a guitar and double bass duo and have gone through plenty of line-up changes since, with frontman Sean Bonnette singing in a rough, self-deprecating wit. His influences are a strange mix, drawing on Leonard Cohen and Slayer in the same breath. Across five albums and five EPs, critics have compared their sound to a composite of Jeff Mangum of Neutral Milk Hotel, Bright Eyes and the Violent Femmes.

It's been a long time since they last played the city, so this is a bit of a return. The support comes from Ducking Punches, and the whole thing is for over-18s only. Doors open at 19:00 and the night runs through to 22:00. Tickets are £22.40, which includes the booking fee.
