The popular ALTRA Brighton Half Marathon returns to the seafront with a wheelchair race, charity relay and youth races for ages 7 to 17.
The ALTRA Brighton Half Marathon returns to the seafront on Sunday 28 February 2027, starting and finishing on Hove Lawns. It's one of the first major half marathons of the running calendar and one of the most popular races in the UK, and it's owned and organised by The Sussex Beacon, a charity that keeps fundraising at the heart of the whole thing.
The main event is the 13.1-mile half marathon, but there's plenty more on the day: a wheelchair race, a charity relay, and youth races for ages 7 to 17. The course is a flat, fast road route that takes you past Brighton Palace Pier, Hove's beach huts, the Royal Pavilion and the i360, with sea views for about 95% of the way. On the day, it's a festival-style atmosphere with a race village of marquees, spectator crowds and post-race refreshments.

If you're looking to run for a cause, Together Co — a local charity that creates connections for people lonely and socially isolated in the community — offers a limited number of charity places. They're a non-refundable £30 fee with a commitment to raise at least £300, and in return you get a Together Co top and a cheer squad along the route to keep you going. Entry for the main race starts from £30, and the whole thing runs from the seafront and promenade, finishing back on Hove Lawns.
