Comedy show where Adam Riches plays Sean Bean in 'How the Bean Saved Christmas' at Komedia.
Adam Riches is back at Komedia on Friday 11 December, playing 'Sean Bean' in How the Bean Saved Christmas. It's a return to the character that's become his Christmas staple, and this time he's bringing it to the Komedia Studio in Gardner Street.
If you've seen the show before, it's worth knowing that this is an entirely new production. The story follows 'The Bean', who returns after the chaos of the previous year to save Christmas once and for all. There's a bit of a twist to the room, too: the audience is cast as 'A Bunch of Bastards', so you're part of the scene rather than just watching from the dark.
For context, the 2025 version of the show had Riches as 'Sean Bean' riding an inflatable reindeer and booting mince pies into the crowd. That run earned a 'Must-See Christmas Show' nod from The Independent, The Times, Time Out and The Guardian, and made Chortle's 10 Most Memorable Comedy Gigs of 2025. This 2026 staging is a fresh start from there, not a repeat.

It's a good place to get a feel for Riches if you haven't caught him before. He's been a fixture of the Edinburgh Fringe since 2003 and won the Foster's Edinburgh Comedy Award in 2011, with shows like Bring Me The Head Of Adam Riches (2011) and Adam Riches is Coach Coach Marriage (2015) along the way. This is his Christmas character, though, and the whole thing is built around that specific persona.
The show is on Friday 11 December, 7:30 pm, with doors opening at 7:00 pm. Tickets are £16.00, seating is unreserved, and it's for ages 16 and over.
