Live talk by Adam Kay, with a Q&A, reflecting on how the NHS has changed since his diaries.
Adam Kay is back on stage at the Theatre Royal on Monday 12 April, marking ten years since his diaries first stuck an index finger inside the NHS. It's part of his This is Going to Hurt anniversary tour, and if you've read the books or seen the series, you'll know exactly where this comes from.
The show mixes the all-time favourites from those diaries with stories that have never been told before, so it's not just a trip down memory lane. It's already been watched live by 350,000 people worldwide, and the Brighton date is one of the stops on the tour. Kay is a BAFTA winner, and the evening is built around his time working on the front lines of the health service.
He rounds off the night with a Q&A, where he reflects on how the NHS has changed in the ten years since the books first took off. That's the part that really puts the whole thing in context: the diaries were a snapshot of a particular moment, and this is a look back at the decade that's followed.
