A pop and indie concert featuring Adam Hopper & The Wimps on their UK tour, joined by the local band The Stanford Family Band.
Adam Hopper & The Wimps play Pink Moon on Saturday 21 November, with The Stanford Family Band opening. It's part of a UK-wide tour promoting their self-titled debut LP on Bingo Records, so the set will be built around the new material.
Hopper & The Wimps describe their sound as grounded folk, Go-Betweens-esque jangle pop and Americana-inflected music driven by the old tools of melody, story, charisma and fun. If that sounds a bit broad, it's because it is: the night sits across pop, acoustic, alternative and indie pop, and the tour is taking the record to stages across the country.
Joining them is The Stanford Family Band, Brighton's own, who released Go Again earlier this summer. Their songs are noted for intricate harmonies, organs, guitars and reflection, so they'll be bringing a local presence to the bill. Between the two, the evening covers a fair bit of ground, from the jangle and storytelling of the headliners to the harmonies and organs of the support.
