Candlelit choral tribute to Coldplay by The Canterbury Chamber Choir, with the audience free to move through the space.
The Canterbury Chamber Choir are bringing a tribute to Coldplay to the Theatre Royal on Saturday 13 February 2027, starting at 19:30. It's called A Sky Full of Stars, and it's not a cover band in the usual sense. Rather than a stage and a front row, the show is an immersive, candlelit choral experience: the audience can move through the candlelit space and take in the music as part of the soundscape, with voices rising and falling all around you.
Musical director Peter Futcher has shaped the programme around the sound of 40 voices and supporting instruments, working through the songs that made the band famous. Viva La Vida, A Sky Full of Stars, Clocks, Yellow, Paradise and Hymn for the Weekend are all on the list, and the night is rounded off with visuals and LED wristbands that light up the crowd. The show is billed as the most authentic tribute to Coldplay, and the choral arrangement is the core of it — 40 voices singing together rather than a band playing the hits.
