Jim plays Patterns on Sunday 18 October, with support from Steve KIW and Bill Brewster. Jim is also known as Jim Baron of Crazy P, and this is a live show bringing his new album, The Curious Case Of Existence, to the stage alongside tracks from his debut.
The Curious Case Of Existence comes out on 18 September via Vicious Charm, following his 2023 debut Love Makes Magic, which got a good reception. The new record was shaped with help from veteran producer Eddie Stevens, who has worked with Moloko, Sia and Zero 7. It was completed in the shadow of the death of Crazy P vocalist Danielle Moore in August 2024, and her memory informs the album's closing track, 'Windmills', which recalls a road trip the two of them took through Palm Springs and Las Vegas. MOJO gave the album four stars.
The show brings that new material live, and the support comes from two familiar names: writer, historian and DJ Bill Brewster, co-founder of the legendary Low Life parties, and Vicious Charm's Steve KIW. It's a Sunday afternoon slot, so you'll be in and out well before the evening properly kicks in.
