Redroaster has been a staple of the Brighton coffee and dining scene for over 25 years, operating as a café, restaurant, and organic coffee roastery. As a certified B Corporation with a strong focus on sustainability, the business runs a profit-sharing scheme supporting social projects in Rwanda and the UK. They use carbon-neutral coffee, local organic wild-range meats and eggs, and even have tables made from recycled milk and yoghurt cartons. The brand operates two distinct venues in Brighton, each offering a slightly different atmosphere but sharing a commitment to high-quality, eco-conscious dining.

The first location is Redroaster Brighton Dome, situated at 29 New Road in the heart of the city near the Royal Pavilion. The interior features marble surfaces, geometric tiling, hand-painted wall art, and gold metal details. Outside, there is a covered and heated private terrace for up to 50 people overlooking the Royal Pavilion Gardens, alongside covered al-fresco dining for over 100 people on New Road. This venue is dog-friendly, laptop-friendly, and open Monday to Friday from 09:30 to 22:00, and Saturday and Sunday from 09:30 to 23:00. It is a popular spot for brunch, lunch, and pre-theatre dining, and reservations are recommended for weekends.
The second venue is Redroaster Kemptown, located at 1D St James's Street. Known as "Redroaster by day and Lucky Khao by night," this spot features south-facing floor-to-ceiling windows and an outdoor terrace. It holds a 5-star Food Hygiene Rating from January 2025. Opening hours are Monday and Sunday from 08:00 to 16:30, and Tuesday to Saturday from 08:30 to 23:00. As the only certified organic coffee roaster in the South, Redroaster roasts its own beans daily in vintage Diedrich roasters, supplying single-farm, organic, and decaffeinated blends both in-store and online.
The daytime menu across the venues focuses on high-quality brunch and lunch options. You can find dishes like The Full Roaster for £13.90, crab and avocado on brioche with yuzu curd, herb waffles with bacon jam, and Berlin eggs. For those looking for sweet options, they serve salted caramel pancakes and 5-grain granola. A bottomless brunch option is also available. In the evening, the Kemptown location transitions into Lucky Khao, serving northern Thai charcoal barbecue, curries, and sharing plates. Highlighted dishes on this evening menu include charcoal-grilled marinated chicken with chilli, lemon, ginger, and coriander, sour eggplant curry, and vegan white corn ribs. Both venues are fully wheelchair accessible with adapted bathrooms.
