This isn't just a regular gig; it’s part of the popular On The Beach Festival, and the night is being branded as ‘Madrophenia’. If you’re a fan of their classic ska-pop sound, mark your calendar for Friday, July 24, 2026. The event is scheduled to run from 2:00 PM until 10:30 PM, giving everyone plenty of time to enjoy the seafront atmosphere and the full lineup.
Madness themselves seem pretty excited about the location. They put out a statement saying, "Brighton beach in July – the sea, the sunshine, Madness and yous… That’s not just a concert, that’s a proper British summer experience. Pack your flip-flops and head to the beach for a very special show we are calling Madrophenia… and a word to the wise, come early because we have got a fantastic line up, you won’t want to miss a minute."
For those who might need a reminder, Madness are the North London 'Nutty Boys' who have been going strong for over four decades. They’re known for huge hits like "Our House," "It Must Be Love," "House of Fun," "Baggy Trousers," and "One Step Beyond." They’ve had a busy few years, releasing a career-spanning compilation, Hit Parade, in 2025, and even securing their first-ever UK No. 1 studio album in 2023 with Theatre Of The Absurd Presents C’est La Vie. So, expect a high-energy set packed with anthems.
The concert is part of the wider On The Beach Festival, which is now in its sixth year and has become a regular fixture on the UK festival calendar. It’s known for bringing big names to the seafront. For the 2026 run, other announced headliners include Fatboy Slim and Moby, both of whom sold out their dates in the pre-sale, along with The Maccabees. This shows the kind of quality and demand the festival is attracting.
It’s worth remembering that Brighton Beach has a history with huge music events, most famously Fatboy Slim’s Big Beach Boutique II back in 2002. That event was famously chaotic, drawing a quarter of a million people. The On The Beach Festival, however, is a fully ticketed and organized event, ensuring a much safer and smoother experience for everyone enjoying the music right next to the Palace Pier.
Now for the important bit: tickets. Since today is Monday, February 2, the sales are happening this week. Pre-sale tickets go live on Wednesday, February 4 at 10 AM, with the general sale following on Thursday, February 5 at 10 AM. Given how quickly the other headliners sold out, you’ll want to be ready if you plan on securing a spot for this unique seaside show.
