If you are in the centre of Brighton and fancy something with a bit of heat, Las Iguanas sits in The Lanes at 7-8 Jubilee Street, close to The Royal Pavilion and the seafront. It is a Latin American restaurant and bar, and the menu leans on a mix of Mexican and South American cooking: fajitas, nachos, curries, burritos, quesadillas, empanadas, skewers and burgers. There are halal and non-halal options, as well as vegetarian and vegan dishes, and the kitchen makes more than 30 of its salsas and sauces by hand each day. On the halal front, the chicken, lamb, lamb meat and turkey are halal across the group, while beef, duck and chorizo are not.

The place is best known for its bottomless brunch, and there is a version for almost every budget. The student brunch is two hours of unlimited drinks and food for £24.95, while the alcohol-free option gives you 90 minutes of unlimited cocktails, beer, cava or mocktails with your main. The general brunch, running from 10 November to 30 December, is two hours of unlimited cocktails, fizz and beers plus a brunch dish from £43.95 a head, and the New Year's Eve version goes from £59.95. If you are a student, there is also a 40% discount on food and drink every day from Sunday to Thursday, from 1 September to 31 October 2026, with a code and student ID. Families get kids eating free seven days a week through the Las Iguanas app, and the lunch deal pairs a main, from the Brazilian Katsu Curry to burritos, with a soft drink or mocktail for £10. In the evenings, Late Night Latin runs Monday to Friday from 8pm to 10pm, and cocktails are two from £13 all day, with tapas from £6.
Opening hours shift a little depending on the day. Monday to Thursday it runs from 12pm to around 8.30pm or 9pm, with the bar staying open until 10pm. Friday it is 12pm to 9.30pm, bar until 11pm; Saturday 11am to 10pm, bar until 11pm; and Sunday 12pm to 8pm, bar until 9pm. There is an outdoor terrace, a separate bar area, access for people with reduced mobility, delivery and free WiFi. For bookings or queries, the numbers are 01273 063 263, 063 264 or 01273 573 550, and the email is brighton@iguanas.co.uk.
It is worth a note that the group owns several other names you will recognise, like Cafe Rouge, Bella Italia, La Tasca and Huxleys, and the Brighton Marina branch, which did flame-grill Argentine, Brazilian, Mexican and Peruvian dishes, closed for good on 2 July 2020. The Jubilee Street site is the one still going, and it is the one to head to if you want a table in The Lanes.
