Brighton is seeing a significant rise in events that blend food with live performance. This shift towards experiential leisure means the meal is part of a larger narrative or show, moving beyond traditional dining to interactive entertainment. Two prominent examples of this trend are the long-running Bogan Bingo at Komedia and the interactive Faulty Towers dining experience.

Bogan Bingo has reached its 10-year mark as a staple of the Brighton scene. Held in the basement of Komedia Brighton at 44-47 Gardner Street, the show features two Australian hosts in short shorts and long mullets. The aesthetic is heavily Australian-themed, featuring mullets, denim, and air guitar competitions. The music focuses on 80s and 90s anthems with high-energy choreography. The event is strictly for ages 18+ and is a common choice for hen parties, birthdays, and corporate events.
There are two main formats for Bogan Bingo. Monthly evening shows run from 19:00 to 22:00 and include a snack menu. Saturday bottomless brunch sessions start at 12:30 PM and include 90 minutes of selected drinks such as Komedia Pilsner, Orchard View Cider, Mimosas, and Bloody Marys. The brunch also includes a choice of four dishes, with vegan and vegetarian options available. Upcoming dates include this Saturday, 28th February 2026, and 9th April 2026. Christmas specials are scheduled for 3rd and 16th December. Tickets for evening shows start at £15.40, while the bottomless brunch is priced around £40 to £43.20.
Another primary example of the immersive dining genre is Faulty Towers: The Dining Experience. This 2-hour production features actors portraying Basil, Sybil, and Manuel in an original story. The show is 70% improvised and attendees participate as diners in the hotel restaurant. While the show is a tribute to the characters, it does not use scripts from the original BBC series. The experience is suitable for ages 8+ and is often priced around £65 to £69 per person.
The menu for the Faulty Towers experience typically includes three courses in a 70s style. Starters feature roasted butternut squash soup. Main course options include lemon and oregano chicken or a lentil and butternut squash Wellington for vegan diners. Desserts include white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake or a chocolate and orange brownie. Dietary requirements can be organized in advance through the booking confirmation.
Both experiences utilize cabaret-style seating to facilitate interaction between the performers and the audience. Booking is required for groups, and those booking individually as part of a larger party are advised to notify the venue to ensure they are seated together. These events reflect the growing popularity of interactive theatre in Brighton, where the entertainment is as central to the afternoon or evening as the food itself.
