Located at 83 Dyke Rd in the Seven Dials area of Brighton, Hi Cacti is a cactus concept shop, plant boutique, and café run by Sabina Palermo. Sabina, originally from Austin, Texas, started the project in 2015 by crafting colourful concrete pots inspired by Mexican art. Over the years, the business grew into its current physical space where you can browse plants, pick up handcrafted pots, enjoy drinks, and take part in hands-on workshops.

The plant section focuses on low-maintenance houseplants, especially hand-picked cacti and succulents. Besides greenery, you will find handcrafted concrete pots made in their North Laine workshop, as well as Tex-Mex and Southwestern decor items like candles, incense, greeting cards, and hot sauces. In the café area, the menu features drinks like matcha, tea, horchata, and a Horchata Cold Brew, alongside Mexican soft drinks such as Jarritos. Food offerings include Basque cheesecake, pastel de nata, gluten-free treats, and local pastries. Sabina also wrote the book Hi Cacti: Growing Houseplants & Happiness, which covers plant care, self-care rituals, and plant-based recipes.
Hi Cacti also runs interactive craft workshops, including self-sustaining terrarium building in glass vessels and succulent wreath classes. The atmosphere inside is welcoming, making it an easy place to ask for plant care advice or sit down with a cold drink. The business holds a 4.9/5 rating on Google from 57 reviews, with visitors often noting the helpful advice from Sabina and Alex and the quality of the coffee.
The shop is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM (closed on Tuesdays). You can reach them by phone at +44 7354 862 939 or via email at hi@hicacti.com.
