Taking the top spot for Best Brighton and Hove Restaurant is terre à terre in The Lanes. This vegetarian and vegan staple has been around since 1993 and has now won this specific category twice in the last three years. It is known for a high-end approach to plant-based dining, offering an organic wine list and creative cocktails. If you are planning a visit, they have specific mid-week and weekend hours, and they offer various discounts for NHS staff, industry workers, and Picturehouse members. Meanwhile, Andalucia in Ferring took home the title for Best Sussex Restaurant, and Jo & Co in Hove managed a double win, being named both the Best Brunch spot and the Most Family Friendly venue in the region.
For those looking for specific types of dining, Embers in The Lanes retained its title for Best Sunday Roast for the second year in a row. Their wood-fired menu includes options like Sussex beef rump and smoked chicken, served with large Yorkshire puddings and crispy potatoes. Starfish & Coffee continues its streak as the Best Brighton and Hove Café, while The Signalman earned its first BRAVO for Best Brighton and Hove Pub. If you are heading out of the city, The Eight Bells in Jevington was recognised as the Best Sussex Pub. Other category winners include Kindling for Best Lunch, MOGUMOGU for Best International Cuisine, and Fatto a Mano for Best Value.
The awards also focused on sustainability and local sourcing, with the University of Brighton supporting the Sustainability Champions category. The central theme of "Choose Local" was evident throughout the voting process, reflecting the city's support for its independent hospitality sector. With the results now public as of this week, these venues are likely to see a lot of interest as the spring season gets underway. Whether you are looking for a specific wine list at Poco or a reliable meal at one of the established winners, the 2026 list covers a wide range of styles and price points across the local area.
