Concert by the reunited British pop rock group Transvision Vamp, fronted by original singer Wendy James and bassist Dave Parsons.
Transvision Vamp are playing the O2 Academy Bournemouth on Wednesday 21 October, part of their first UK tour in three decades. It's a long time coming — the band split in 1992, so this is their first run of dates across the country since then.
They first made their mark as a late-'80s pop rock group, formed in 1986. Over the course of three studio albums, they put seven singles into the UK Top 40, with 'Baby I Don't Care' and 'I Want Your Love' being the ones most people will recognise. Other chart entries from that run include 'The Only One', 'Landslide of Love' and 'Born to Be Sold'.
The reunion brings back original singer Wendy James and bassist Dave Parsons, who've both been active since the band called it a day. James spent some of those years fronting the band Racine, releasing two albums, and has since put out five solo records — the most recent being The Shape of History, which came out in 2024. This tour is the first time she's back on stage with the band in over thirty years.
