A free day of expert advice, talks and practical sessions for people living with tinnitus, including yoga taster sessions and an exhibition.
Tinnitus UK are bringing their Tinnitus Information Day to Pavilion Dance South West on Saturday 5 September, a free day of expert advice, talks and practical sessions for anyone living with tinnitus. It runs from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm at the venue on Westover Road in Bournemouth.
The morning and afternoon are built around talks from tinnitus experts, who cover the basic facts of the condition, the treatments available, and ways to manage stress and relaxation. Between the talks, there are taster sessions of activities like yoga and creative workshops — the yoga is led by Hatha Yoga with Vicki. There's also an exhibition with stands from a range of tinnitus service providers, so you can pick up information and chat with different organisations in one place.
Tinnitus UK run these days to help reduce the stress, confusion and isolation that often come with the condition, and to give people practical ways to cope and improve their overall wellbeing. It's an inclusive event open to everyone, including family, friends and support networks, with communication support on hand for those with hearing impairments. They've held these days across the UK with good results, and say most people leave feeling more positive and better equipped to manage their tinnitus.
