The Ultimate 80's Rock Anthems

King Awesome are playing Key West Bar and Grill on Saturday 7 November, with a set built around the big rock anthems of the 1980s. It's a tribute show that pulls from the era's biggest names: Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Def Leppard, Mötley Crüe, Guns N' Roses, Poison and Whitesnake. If you grew up with those bands, you'll recognise the names on the list.

They describe the show as a trip back to the late '80s nights on L.A.'s Sunset Strip, the home of big riffs and even bigger hair. The music pairs those riffs with anthemic choruses, and the live performance adds high kicks, fist pumps and tongue-in-cheek nods to the clichés of 80s rock. They've billed it as a night to party like it's 1989.

As for how they see themselves, the band calls the act the pinnacle of 80s hair rock and metal, and they say they accept no substitutes, imposters or imitations. It's a tribute that leans into the theatrical side of the genre as much as the songs themselves.

The show is at Key West Bar and Grill in Bournemouth on Saturday 7 November. You can find more details and tickets at visit-dorset.com/event/the-ultimate-80s-rock-anthems/402887301/.
