An evening of 90s hits performed by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra at Meyrick Park as part of their Proms in the Park 2026 series.
Symphonic Smash Hits - the 90's! is coming to Meyrick Park on Saturday 8 August, part of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra's Proms in the Park 2026 series. It's an outdoor evening of 90s hits played by the full orchestra, with Pete Harrison conducting and four singers — Sharlene Hector, Laura Tebbutt, Patrick Smyth and Nick Shirm — on vocals. The whole thing runs for about two and a half hours, and it's sponsored by Lester Aldridge Solicitors.

The setlist pulls from across the decade. You'll hear Bittersweet Symphony, Let Me Entertain You, Love Is All Around, Livin' La Vida Loca, Picture Of You, Vogue, Baby One More Time, Believe, Bring It All Back, Country House, Don't Look Back in Anger, Wannabe, Angels and Never Forget, among others. It's a broad mix, so it covers a fair bit of ground from the Britpop and dance-pop that defined the era.
They're pitching it as a night for families and anyone with a soft spot for the 90s, and they're encouraging people to lean into the theme — bucket hats, windbreakers and chokers are all welcome. If you've still got your old gear in the back of a wardrobe, this is a decent excuse to bring it out.
Tickets are £37 for adults and £21 for under-16s and concessions. If you're bringing a group, there's £1 off each ticket when you buy ten or more at full price; for groups of 20 or more, it's best to call the box office. You can book through the BSO website or by phone on 01202 669925. On the night, you can either print your tickets at home or just show the QR code on your phone at the gate. Meyrick Park is on Central Drive, Bournemouth, BH2 6LH, and the music starts at 20:00.
