Re-release screening of the 1986 science-fiction film Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, part of the National Cinema Weekend.
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home is back on the big screen at Odeon Bournemouth BH2 this weekend, running from Friday 5 September through to Tuesday 9 September. It's a re-release of the 1986 science-fiction sequel, and it's coming back in 4K to mark the film's 40th anniversary. If you've only ever seen it on a small screen or a DVD, this is a chance to see it as it was meant to be seen.
For those who need a reminder, The Voyage Home is the one where the crew of the Enterprise travels back in time to 1986 San Francisco, so it's a bit of a time-capsule piece as much as it is a space adventure. It runs 114 minutes, so it's a full feature without dragging. It was directed by Leonard Nimoy, who also stars in it, and it brings back William Shatner and DeForest Kelley alongside him on screen.

The Bournemouth screenings are part of National Cinema Weekend, which slashes ticket prices across participating cinemas, so it's a cheap way to catch a classic. Tickets are £4, and there are several times to choose from across the weekend: Friday at 14:00, Sunday at 16:00, and Tuesday at 19:50. If you're not a regular Star Trek fan, it's a low-stakes way to get into it; if you are, it's a good excuse to see one of the more lighthearted entries in the original series back in the cinema. The screenings are at Odeon Bournemouth BH2, with tickets £4.
