Under-18s musician showcase forming part of the Arts by the Sea Fringe Festival, with the theme 'ELEMENTAL'.
Soundstorm is coming to Chaplin's & The Cellar Bar on Wednesday 30th September, starting at 2:00pm. It's a showcase for musicians under eighteen, so the whole afternoon is built around young performers taking the stage rather than a single headliner. If you've got a younger sibling, a niece or nephew, or just want to see what the local under-18 scene looks like, this is the one.
Soundstorm is part of the second edition of the Arts by the Sea Fringe, which takes the creativity of the main Arts by the Sea festival and spreads it across independent venues in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. This year's Fringe theme is 'ELEMENTAL', and the programme is put together in collaboration with We Broke Free, South Coast independent music curators and specialists. Having them on board gives the whole thing a bit more weight, too — they're not just filling slots, they're actually curating the line-up.
Because it's an under-18s showcase, the focus is on the performers themselves rather than a polished, professional bill. It's a chance to hear young musicians playing live in a proper venue, with the afternoon dedicated to that specific age group. The timing — 2:00pm on a Wednesday — means it's a daytime affair, so it's more of a matinee than a late-night gig.
