A one-night-only poetry show by Paul Canon Harris in tribute to David Bowie, accompanied by live piano from Matt Black.
Paul Canon Harris is bringing Sliced Bowie to The Underground on Friday 16 October, a one-night-only show of poetry devoted to David Bowie. Harris reads from the work, with Matt Black accompanying him on piano. It's presented as part of the live events line-up from Hangover Hill Presents.
Harris isn't a newcomer to the spoken word scene. He's taken his work to audiences in several countries and spent six years as a regular contributor to BBC 2's Pause For Thought, the long-running early-morning slot for poetry and reflection. Sliced Bowie is his tribute to Bowie, and he'll be reading it here in person.
Matt Black provides the musical side of the evening. He's a pianist with more than 30 years of experience performing with and for a string of A-list celebrities, and he's even entertained members of the Royal Family. He'll be on the keys throughout, so the poetry doesn't stand aloneβit's a shared performance between the two of them.
