A unique magic and comedy show featuring Penn Jillette and Piff the Magic Dragon, marking a special UK tour collaboration.
Penn Jillette and Piff the Magic Dragon bring Piff & Pop's Magic Shoppe to the Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre on Thursday 10 September 2026. It's a magic and comedy show that puts two very different names on the same bill: Penn Jillette, half of the legendary Penn & Teller, and Piff the Magic Dragon, the deadpan comic who performs in a dragon suit.
For Jillette, this is a bit of a milestone. It's his first UK tour without Teller, his partner of 50 years. For Piff — whose real name is John van der Put — it's a return to British stages after more than a decade living and working in Las Vegas. They're billed as 'Pop' and 'Piff' for the show, and the night is split into two halves. In the first, they each take the stage on their own, with Piff joined by Mr Piffles, described as 'the world's only magic-performing Chihuahua'. That part of the evening lets their individual styles sit side by side: Penn's narrative, fast-talking prestidigitation against Piff's eccentric comedy and illusions.
In the second half, they come together as a duo, combining their acts into a joint performance that they've described as building to a 'larger-than-life' finish. It's a bit of a rarity to see two established names work as a pair rather than just sharing a bill, so that's where the night really goes. Bournemouth is the first stop of a nine-date UK tour running through September 2026.
