Paint along - Garden Flowers in Watercolour

Anna Kenny is leading a paint-along workshop at The Old School House in Boscombe on Thursday 1 October, from 19:30 to 21:30. The focus is garden flowers, worked in pen and watercolour, and it's pitched at beginners — so if you've never touched these materials before, you're exactly who it's for. If you've painted a bit and just want a relaxed evening out, that works too.

Kenny is an experienced watercolour artist, and she'll guide the group through the techniques, breaking the painting process down step by step and answering questions as you go. You'll work from photos provided, though you're welcome to bring your own if you'd rather paint something specific. By the end of the two hours, you'll leave with two or three A5 watercolour pieces.

It's set up as a social thing as much as a class: a chance to meet new people, pick up a new skill and get a bit more inspired by local nature through art. There's also a wellbeing angle to it, with the creative process itself valued for its calming effect — the kind of thing that's easy to appreciate after a long day. All materials are provided, and there's tea and coffee on hand, so you don't need to bring anything but yourself.
