Ocean Colour Scene perform live at the Bournemouth International Centre in the Windsor Hall.
Ocean Colour Scene play the Bournemouth International Centre on Saturday 5 December, with the show starting at 6:30pm in Windsor Hall. It's a bit of a late one in the calendar, so it sits well into the winter run of gigs around town.
If you're not familiar with them, they're a 90s indie rock-pop band whose sound draws on the Sixties. That retro lean, combined with a knack for reaching the music-buying public, paid off over the years: their back catalogue includes seventeen Top 40 singles. Among them is 'The Riverboat Song', which became the walk-on music for Chris Evans on the Channel 4 series TFI Friday.
That particular song is probably the one most people will recognise, but it's just one part of a long run of singles that kept them on the charts throughout the nineties. The Sixties influence is right there in the name and the sound, and it's what they've built their reputation on.
