Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is coming back to the big screen this weekend, with screenings at Odeon Bournemouth and Vue Poole. It's a re-release of the fifth film in the series, the one that brings J.K. Rowling's fifth book to life. If you've seen it before, you'll remember it as the one that introduces Imelda Staunton as the latest Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, and it's the one that takes Harry's struggle with the Ministry of Magic to the forefront.

Looking back, it's a bit of a talking point among the films. It's remembered for missing out on a big-name director, and it drew its fair share of criticism for leaning too heavily on exposition at the expense of action. Whether that works for you is part of the experience, but seeing it in a cinema is a different thing from catching it on a telly.

There are a few times to choose from across the two venues. Odeon Bournemouth is running a late one on Sunday, 27 September, at 11.30pm. If you'd rather something earlier in the weekend, Vue Poole has two screenings: 4pm on Saturday and 6pm on Sunday. Between the two, you've got a late-night option or a couple of daytime slots, so it's easy to fit in around your weekend.
