Re-release screening of the second Harry Potter film as part of National Cinema Weekend.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is back on the big screen at ODEON Bournemouth on Sunday 6 September, as part of a re-release screening. It's the second film in the franchise, and it follows the boy wizard's second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where evil forces release a vicious serpent into the corridors.
Staying true to J.K. Rowling's book, it's a darker affair than the first. It's a bit over-long, and it combines old-fashioned children's storytelling with blockbuster-budget special effects. If you've only seen it on a telly or a laptop, seeing it in a cinema is a different experience altogether.
The screening is part of National Cinema Weekend, which is running from 4 September to 10 September. It's not just happening here, either: Vue Poole is also taking part, with its own selection of re-release titles showing across the same period. If you're in the mood for a few days of cinema, you could easily make a proper outing of it and catch something over in Poole as well.
