First Wednesday Tarot Club

The First Wednesday Tarot Club meets at Da Nunzio Italian Delicatessen in the Royal Arcade on Wednesday 7 October, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. It's a friendly, relaxed club for anyone wanting to deepen their relationship with the cards, whether you're just starting out or have been reading for years. Each month explores a different theme, opening with a gentle teaching section on the cards, their symbolism and how they show up in real readings, followed by a hands-on practice session where members read together, try spreads and build confidence in a supportive space.

Sessions are run by Anathema – Dedicated Witchcraft Emporium, and you can bring your own deck, though the Rider Waite Smith is suggested for beginners. If you don't have one, you can borrow one from the shop. The venue itself is a deli that serves hot paninis, freshly ground coffee and wine, so it's easy enough to stay on for a drink or a bite after the session wraps up.

Leading the club are Vic Hyland and Michele Chamberlain Scott of Witchways of Dorset, both well-known figures in occultism with over 40 years of study and practice across a range of esoteric techniques. They're also artists, poets, musicians and published authors, and they combine that deep knowledge with a warm, collaborative approach and a bit of gentle humour.

A single ticket is £18, or you can get a ticket plus a Rider Waite Smith tarot deck for £33. The club runs from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Da Nunzio, 14 Royal Arcade, Boscombe, Bournemouth, BH1 4BT.
