A gentle 45-minute introduction to face yoga with facial massage, breathing and relaxation techniques, suitable for beginners.
Anna Kopec Massey is running a face yoga workshop at The Old School House Boscombe on Friday 6 November, from 13:00 to 14:00. It's a 45-minute introduction, so it's a short one that fits into a lunch hour rather than taking up your whole afternoon.
If you've never come across it, face yoga is a routine of gentle facial exercises, stretches and massages. The idea is to tone the muscles, boost blood flow and release tension, with a particular focus on the areas we tend to hold the most stress — the forehead, the jaw and around the eyes. The session pairs that with face mapping, an ancient practice rooted in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurvedic Medicine that divides the face into specific zones to link internal health and lifestyle factors. Massey is a fully insured Face Yoga & Face Mapping Practitioner, and the workshop brings those two together: simple exercises, facial massage, breathing and relaxation techniques. It's aimed at curious learners, so you don't need any prior experience to join in.

After the 45-minute session, there's tea and coffee, which gives you a chance to stretch out and chat with the other people there. The workshop runs at The Old School House Boscombe, on Gladstone Road in Boscombe, BH7 6BG. It's on Friday 6 November, 13:00 to 14:00, and tickets are £8, though the EventBrite fee brings that up to £9.38.
