A live tribute performance by Daft Funk Live, recreating the music of Daft Punk with a synchronised lighting show and live instruments.
Daft Funk Live bring their retrospective celebration of Daft Punk to O2 Academy Bournemouth on Saturday 5 September. It's a full-on tribute to the French duo, with the set pulling from across their whole career — Homework through to Random Access Memories and beyond — rather than sticking to one era. They play the tracks live with a synchronised lighting show and live instruments, and they add their own mixes in the Daft Punk style.
There's a bit of a story to the act. Daft Funk Live was started in 2018 by two brothers and devoted fans of the original duo, and it's grown into one of the most well-known Daft Punk tributes around. They've played over 100 shows worldwide and their YouTube videos have passed 7 million views. In October 2024, the robots recorded an eight-minute studio session in London that over 3.6 million people watched.
They've played a fair few festivals and venues along the way — Burning Man, All Points East, Camp Bestival, Camp Wildfire, Latitude, Superbock Superrock, and the O2 Academy in London. This Bournemouth date is part of that same touring run, bringing the same live setup and lighting show to the south coast.
