Bill Bailey: Vaudevillean

Bill Bailey plays the Bournemouth International Centre on Saturday 21 November, as part of his UK arena tour of the winter of 2026. The show is called Vaudevillean, and it's a new one.

It takes its name from the Vaudeville era, that old-school variety theatre that used to be the main event on a prime-time night out. Bailey describes it as a celebration of comedy, songs and multifarious skills, and he stages it as a multi-instrumental, multi-lingual performer — a purveyor of humour and musical prowess. If you've seen him before, that'll sound familiar: the stand-up mixed with the music, the instruments coming out one after another, and the jokes running alongside the songs. The Vaudeville theme just gives it a specific frame to hold all that together.

It's not a brand new show by the time it reaches Bournemouth, though. Vaudevillean debuted to great success in New Zealand this autumn, so it's had a few months to find its feet on the other side of the world before it hits the UK arena circuit this winter. The Bournemouth date is one of the stops on that tour.
