For anyone who knows the band mainly through Fill My Little World, Never Be Lonely, Sewn, Love It When You Call or Rose, the set should offer a chance to hear those songs alongside the album that introduced The Feeling in 2006. Twelve Stops and Home was largely recorded in the garden shed at the Sussex home of guitarists Kevin and Ciaran Jeremiah. Their follow-up, Join With Us, reached number one in the UK album chart in 2008, while later releases included Together We Were Made, Boy Cried Wolf and The Feeling. The group’s sound sits in the soft-rock and pop-rock space, with the band often compared with acts such as Supertramp, 10cc, Electric Light Orchestra, Queen and Elton John.
The Bournemouth show takes place at O2 Academy Bournemouth, 570 Christchurch Road, Boscombe, Bournemouth, Dorset, BH1 4BH. The venue’s stated curfew is 23:00. Its bag policy allows one small bag per person, no larger than A4 size, measuring up to 28.7cm high, 21cm wide and 15cm deep; large bags and backpacks are not accepted, and there is no luggage storage. The age rules are also worth checking before booking: under-eights are not admitted, under-14s must attend with someone over 18, and anyone under 25 needs identification to buy alcohol. Ticket limits are four per person and household during presale, increasing to six in the general sale, with excess tickets subject to cancellation. The venue box office number is 08701 98 98 98.
The Feeling’s wider tour begins at O2 Academy Liverpool on 4 November, followed by dates in Cardiff and Oxford before the Bournemouth stop. After the local show, the band continues to Eastbourne, Margate, Frome, Shrewsbury, Middlesbrough, Carlisle, Coventry and Northampton. For Bournemouth music fans planning a busy November, the concert also sits among a run of shows at the same venue, including We Are Scientists on 8 October, The Beat featuring Ranking Jnr on 25 October, Jalen Ngonda on 27 October, Dizzee Rascal on 10 November and Del Amitri on 21 November. The Feeling’s date is the one centred on the band’s debut-album anniversary, making it a straightforward option for a Saturday night of British pop-rock in Boscombe.
