Bournemouth's best bottomless brunches

Bournemouth has a surprisingly wide spread of bottomless brunches, and the best part is how much they differ in character. Depending on whether you want a full-on party, a reliable weekend staple, a budget-friendly weekday option or a Caribbean escape, there is a spot for it.

Mimosa Bar on Lansdowne Road is the most maximalist of the bunch. It is the only bottomless brunch in town that pairs unlimited pizza and drinks with karaoke, and it runs on Fridays and Saturdays from the morning until 18:30, with the last session at 16:30. The standard brunch is two hours for £36 a head with no service charge, and that includes premium cocktails. If you want to tailor it, the Vino package is £30 for unlimited prosecco, wine, beer, cider or mocktails plus a menu dish and unlimited pizza, while the Ibiza package at £36 adds menu-selected cocktails to the mix. The Mediterranean-inspired food goes from chicken souvlaki, Caesar salad and moussaka-style pie to vegan macaroni cheese and a Greek chicken burger, and the unlimited pizza covers Margherita, Pepperoni, Veggie supreme, Spicy supreme, Rustica and Carbonara, with vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free options. It is built for groups, with cabana-style tables for eight to sixteen and joined tables for up to twenty-eight, and reservations can be made up to a year in advance.

Slug & Lettuce in The Square leans into the themed side of things. A standard two-hour brunch sits around £34.45 to £39.45 depending on the day and time, with themed editions running a bit more at £39.95 to £41.45, and a £5 upgrade unlocks the Espresso Martinis, Pornstar Martinis and Guinness. The drinks list is long, from Aperol Spritz and Bloody Mary to Sarti Spritz and Sea You Later, and the food shifts with the clock: Eggs Benedict, American-style pancakes and avocado bagel before 5pm, and bacon cheeseburgers, smothered chicken and fajita chicken pasta after. There is a minimum of two people to book, and a £5-per-head deposit kicks in for Saturday bookings and parties of sixteen or more.

The Dancing Jug is the one to know if you want flexibility. It runs seven days a week across three sites — The Triangle, Charminster and Southbourne — at £33 for two and a half hours, from midday to 20:30, with unlimited cocktails, mocktails, spirits, house wines, prosecco, bellinis and Amstel, plus a meal from the brunch menu. Students get a 90-minute version for £23 with ID, £26 without, though it does not run on Saturdays. The sites double as sports bars with 16 screens, weekly quiz nights, karaoke on Triangle Thursdays and Charminster Sundays, and live music at the weekends.

And for something with a bit more flavour, Turtle Bay on Madeira Road does a Caribbean bottomless brunch. The full two-hour version is £46 for unlimited cocktails, food, mocktails, prosecco and draft beer, with last bookings at 5pm Sunday to Friday and 3pm on Saturdays. There is an early bird 90-minute sitting for £36 with the last table at 11:45am, and Island Nights from 19:30 at £50 for 90 minutes of bottomless drinks and two courses. A £10 champagne upgrade is available, and bookings of five or more need card validation, with everyone at the table on the same package.
