If you are looking for a family plan to fill the early weeks of December, Titanic Belfast is bringing back A Magical Christmas Experience, which runs from Friday 27 November to Wednesday 23 December. It is a guided, immersive tour designed for families, and it is the sort of thing that fills up, so booking ahead is worth doing rather than leaving it to chance.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Belfast and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

The tour runs from 9am to 6pm daily, split into 20-minute timeslots, and takes about an hour on average. You enter through the Grand Atrium at the North Pole Check-in, where an Elf guide takes you on the journey: through the Enchanted Forest, past the Magical Wishing Tree, into the Elves' Workshop, and over to Mrs Claus in her cosy kitchen. There is a post office for writing and posting a Christmas letter, a peek into the toy shop, and some arts and crafts before the Chief Elf checks your name against the Naughty or Nice list. Children on the Nice list get to meet Father Christmas individually with their families, which is the part most of them are there for. The whole thing is set up to be family-friendly from start to finish.
On price, a child ticket is £29 midweek and £33 at weekends, and it comes loaded: juice and shortbread, family photo stops with Father Christmas's sleigh, reindeer food, storytelling with Mrs Claus, Christmas crafts, festive games, letter writing, the Naughty or Nice check, the individual visit and photo with Father Christmas (print included), and an exclusive Titanic Belfast Christmas bear. Adults are £15, which covers tea, coffee and shortbread, a sweet treat from the Elves, and the family photo stops. Babes in arms aged 0 to 2 can come along with a sibling for free, though they do not get an individual photo or Father Christmas gift. A maximum of two adults per child booking is recommended, and advance booking is advised, especially for weekends and the week before Christmas.
There are a couple of extras worth knowing about. Book early and you can get 20% off visits on or before 3 December with the code FESTIVECHEER26. For every child ticket bought, you get a complimentary child ticket to the Titanic Experience for the same day, worth up to £13, which you collect at the ticket desk on arrival; all children need to be with a paying adult for that. Free Carers tickets are available with proof of carer status, such as a Blue Badge or PIP letter. For a calmer visit, there are Quiet Sessions with reduced noise and softer lighting on Sunday 6 December at 9.20am and 9.40am, Saturday 12 December at 9.20am and 9.40am, and Monday 14 December at 6.40pm, which you book by phone on +44 (0)28 9076 6386. The site is pushchair-friendly with toilets, baby changing, parking, food and WiFi all on hand.
As a bit of background, the building itself is worth a look. Titanic Belfast sits at 1 Olympic Way in the heart of the Titanic Quarter, right beside the slipways, the Harland & Wolff Drawing Offices and Hamilton Graving Dock. It is an aluminium structure with four prows evoking the ship's stern, designed by American architect Eric Kuhne with a design developed by TODD Architects and a facade of 3,000 aluminium panels. It is the most visited museum in Northern Ireland and the world's largest Titanic visitor experience, so the setting does half the work for you.
